Ruddington’s popular florist is celebrating today after her business scooped a prestigious “Muddy Stilletos Award” 2022.
Readers of the top UK lifestyle website – which prides itself on reaching “over 1.1 million cosmopolitan, fun-loving, urbane women living OUTSIDE London” – have voted Phoenix Flowers the best florist in the whole of Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire!
It was the end of last month when our High Street florist’s learned they had been nominated and shortlisted in the final five. Three other Ruddington retailers; The Frame Breakers, Ruddington Village Market and Ruddy Fine Gin; were also shortlisted in their categories. After 765,000 votes were cast across the “28 Muddy counties” in six weeks, it was revealed today that Phoenix Flowers got more votes than anyone else across our region in the “Best Florist” category.
Its founder and owner, Sally Pickard {pictured top and below centre}, tells RUDDINGTON.info: “We are absolutely thrilled to have won. It means so much more than we can say. The fact that it’s a public vote makes it all the more special. I think the secret of our success is our passion for what we do: Great service and affordable flowers delivered with warmth and friendliness.”

The next step is that Phoenix Flowers gets put forward to the national level.
Meantime, there is a drinks reception and certificate-giving ceremony on Tuesday 12th July in Matlock to celebrate all Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire’s winners. “If the trains are running … I will be there!” beams Sally.
